Tinned Sardines Sardines, decoded.

Sardine Fried Rice

Sardine fried rice with peas, spring onions and a fried egg

Smoked and spiced tins carry this dish:

  1. Heat the oil from the tin in a wok or wide pan until shimmering.
  2. Add day-old rice and fry, pressing it into the pan, until hot and a little crisp at the edges.
  3. Stir in frozen peas and a splash of soy sauce; fry 1 more minute.
  4. Add the sardines last and fold them through gently so they stay in pieces.
  5. Top with a fried egg and any chilli or herbs you have.

Start with a beginner tin or the Starter Kit.
